The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is a critical participant in the administration of justice within Western Australia, providing an independent and effective criminal prosecution service and confiscation practice.
The position of Budgeting and Contract Manager is offered as a full-time fixed-term contract until 30 June 2025 with the possibility of extension or permanency.
The Budgeting and Contract Manager is a critical role in the Operations team, being responsible for the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and forward estimates, in consultation with senior management and the Department of Treasury. This position will provide high-quality budget, funding, and operational performance information to the Attorney General's Office, including incoming Government briefing activities. This position ensures accurate, timely, and relevant management reporting is available to budget owners and clients across the organisation and externally, assisting various business areas to develop and manage their budgets and provide strategic financial advice relating to Department initiatives. The position provides timely and accurate services and advice relating to:
Organisational planning and development; Budget and forecast modelling; Cash flow projections; Project budget management and program reviews; Financial asset and risk management; and The Department of Treasury budgetary requirements and broader understanding of the WA Government funding policies and processes. To be successful in this role, applicants will need to have demonstrated experience in:
Budget performance and financial planning including state budget formation, ministerial briefing undertakings, and negotiations including the development of practical and innovative solutions. Identification and provision of strategic and operational solutions to complex financial management issues. Cultivation of strong, productive working relationships and partnerships across internal and external stakeholders.
