Ongoing development and support opportunities Short Summary: Provide trusted advice and support in the analysis of financial data and effective resource allocation across a complex State Government Portfolio as a Budget Analyst. Your new role: As a Budget Analyst with PSCF, you will provide trusted and effective support in the development and maintenance of budget policies, procedures and management information systems. You will support the preparation of Agency Statements and contribute to the operation of budgetary management and control of resources across a diverse and complex portfolio. You will undertake a variety of activities including but not limited to: Analysis of key performance indicators and information on variances. Researching, analysing, evaluating and providing input to recommendations involving budgetary issues. Ensuring that all budgeting and accounting transactions are executed in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and statutory requirements. Providing high level and strategic expertise, advice and support regarding financial accounting processes, procedures and reporting issues. Contributing to the development and implementation of financial accounting policies and procedures to improve work systems and efficiency. About you: As the successful Budget Analyst, you will champion the values of integrity and credibility and approach the role with a collaborative and consultative mindset. You will provide strategic advice which considers organisational factors and stakeholder needs. You will possess the following: Qualifications in accounting, economics or related financial management field. Demonstrated experience in resource management, undertaking business case development and analysis and developing strategies to improve performance. Experience in providing advice and support to a range of clients and stakeholders resulting in improved business operations. Experience in identifying customer needs, developing service strategies and providing quality customer service. Extensive Knowledge of financial and other accounting standards, structures and practices including public sector financial frameworks, legislation and processes.
