The Opportunity – Novaskill has partnered with Northern Beaches Council to offer multiple Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Apprenticeship opportunities including on-the-job training with ongoing mentoring and support to help you achieve your career goals and unleash your true potential.
You'll complete a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology whilst working in the Community Transport, Parking & Fleet Team over 2 Years through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation and practical on-the-job experience at the Northern Beaches Council and the ability to develop relationships in the community.
The Role – Our Host Employer is seeking to employ motivated Disability Support Workers to provide care and support to our Participants who reside within the Hamlyn Terrace and Wadalba areas.
The position will involve providing care to our Participants as per their NDIS Plans including personal care, cleaning, cooking, taking Participants out within the community and transportation to appointments & outings.

Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Availability to workdays, nights, and weekends. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; both written and verbal. First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain). Working with Children Check for Paid Employment (or willing to obtain). Ability to work as part of a team. Driver's License (Current). Provision of a satisfactory pre-employment medical check. NDIS Workers Check (or willing to obtain). NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (a free online short course which can be completed if successful within the position). Infection Control Certificate (a free online short course which can be completed if successful within the position). Desirable – As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
A genuine passion and interest in working within the Disability sector. A positive and professional attitude about undertaking personal care work. A commitment to adhere to guidelines around privacy and confidentiality and all other company policies and procedures. Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. Ability to work within a team. Ability to establish a professional working relationship with Participants that is supportive, encouraging and in line with their individual personal plan.
