The Role: We've experienced significant growth and are increasing our fleet investment in 2025. Two new roles are being introduced to cover our night shift operations, based from our Acacia Ridge workshop. Our investment in Fleet is impressive and our Maintenance strategy is undergoing transformation to support our future growth.
You will act as the first point of response, resolving all types of breakdowns and fleet related stoppages, to maximise fleet operating time and support delivery schedules of perishable and refrigerated products. Reporting to the Service Coordinator, the Breakdown Response Coordinator will work closely with our Workshop Managers and Teams based in Brisbane, Sydney, Innisfail, Adelaide, Melbourne and Coffs Harbour, the Compliance Monitoring Team, and as required the Safety Team.
This provides the opportunity for a FIFO worker to be permanently based in Brisbane, whilst still enjoying the "half year off" flexibility delivered by an equal time roster. Alternatively, the role may be the ideal next transition for a Mechanical Tradesman/Supervisor who's wishing to get off the tools.
Your main responsibilities will include but not limited to: Oversee and coordinate the resolution of breakdowns on a national level, including diagnostics over the phone and ensuring timely responses.Provide support for the CMT (Compliance Monitoring Team) with technical issues and repairs related to fridge motors.Assist the NTO (National Transport Operations) with breakdowns, managing and resolving all types of breakdowns.Work with depots and drivers to schedule and plan services for the following day.Handle live repair requests, including taking repair requests from drivers and provide feedback as required.Manage daily repair request email.Oversee and respond to repair requests received via email on a daily basis.Carry out administrative duties using TMT, ensuring smooth operation and organisation.Manage and resolve issues related to fuel and respond to fuel spills promptly and effectively.Perform repairs such as changing tyres and light bulbs to minimise breakdown costs.About You: To succeed in this role, we anticipate you will be able to demonstrate:
Mechanical trade qualification with the ability to diagnose mechanical issues over the phone.A mature attitude with a logical and methodical approach to your work.High level reasoning, problem solving and excellent organisational skills.Exceptional communication skills with an ability to deal effectively with a diverse workforce.Ability to manage your own time, meet deadlines and take responsibility for your output and the quality of your work.Proficiency with computers and Microsoft office.Prior experience in a similar role and industry highly regarded but not essential.Kenworth and Thermoking experience highly regarded.We pride ourselves on working in a way that brings our Values to life every day.
