As a Branch Operations Assistant, you will play an important role at our Port Hedland Branch to ensure we deliver on the promises we make and the expectations that we create for our customers.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in every aspect of our operation in Port Hedland safely and efficiently and be encouraged to ask questions and provide valued input.
You will be required, when in the warehouse and working with our tradespeople, to operate the forklift and physically manually handle items within acceptable OHS standards.
While in the office completing administration and sales/quotes, your attention to detail will be vital in ensuring our customers are looked after by providing an honest, positive, and polite attitude.
Requirements
You will be responsible for aiding the Port Hedland team and learning each aspect of the business to transition and develop into becoming an integral part of the Specialised Force team.
Committed and proactive with safety and quality - as they both go hand in hand.
Receiving inventory from our suppliers – unpacking and storing in bin locations.
Dispatching products to our customers – picking, packing, and loading on transport.
Assist tradespersons with workshop and site servicing and repairs.
Assist tradespersons with workshop and site testing/calibration.
Operate tooling and equipment – vehicles, forklift, press, grinders, drills, etc.
Paperwork and documentation of works being done – quality control.
Maintain workshop, warehouse/stores cleanliness.
Support sales team with quotes, sales, planning, and administration duties.
Customer interaction face to face and over the phone.
Be respectful to other team members and our customers.
Ensure compliance with company policies and legislative requirements relative to the industry.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have:
Live and reside in Port/South Hedland.
The right to work in Australia.
Current Australian driver's licence (manual).
Care about safety and quality.
Keen to up-skill.
Mechanical aptitude.
Computer skills – Outlook, Excel, Word.
Able to prioritise workload.
Pass a drug and alcohol test on a regular basis.
Pass a national police clearance.
Able to work as part of a team.
A high level of attention to detail.
Be punctual and on time for commitments.
Additional Desired Skills
Heavy vehicle driver's licence.
Forklift licence (WorkSafe).
Dogging ticket (WorkSafe).
First aid ticket.
Completed part of mechanical fitting apprenticeship or pre-apprenticeship.
Cert 2 – Mechanical Technology.
Cert 2 – Business Administration.
Any hydraulic courses or skills.
