Reporting to our Head of Employee Relations & WHS, you'll support the delivery of our employee relations strategy and continue to ensure that all employee issues are managed in a fair and equitable manner. We'll need you to provide strategic and operational ER/IR leadership and we'll certainly lean on your expertise regarding legislation, policies, and procedures.
You'll be working closely with some great internal teams including, people and culture business partners and our business unit leaders across the enterprise. Given the nature of the work, you will also deal extensively with the Union, external tribunals and other external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities: Lead enterprise bargaining processes on behalf of the business. Manage union relationships to minimise disputes and ensure a stable industrial environment. Negotiate with and influence senior management, staff and external stakeholders towards best practice employment relations practice and solutions. Provide written and oral advice to management regarding key policy, employment legislation issues and emerging employment relations trends. Effectively lead and/or manage investigations or processes in response to discrimination, harassment & bullying complaints through end-to-end case management. Provide advocacy, or lead support, for contested matters in the Fair Work Commission and Anti-Discrimination Tribunals. Proactively review P&C policy and process and identify areas of improvement and develop and implement training to address any deficits. We are looking for an accomplished ER specialist, someone who can engage with senior stakeholders whilst also providing guidance and support to the rest of the P&C team.
Your stakeholder engagement and management skills will be one of the main drivers for success in this role as will be your commerciality. Your audience will be diverse, will have competing priorities and bring with them unique situations for you to work through. We'll need you to demonstrate critical thinking, resilience and problem solving to achieve successful outcomes.
Key Experience: Demonstrated experience in leading enterprise agreement negotiations, including preparing for, negotiating and obtaining approval of enterprise agreements; Legally qualified and experienced in employment law, potentially holding a practicing certificate (ideal, but not essential) Demonstrated understanding of contemporary industrial and employee relations including knowledge of the recent legislation amendments. Experience in preparing for, negotiating and appearing in person at the FWC and other Courts and Tribunals.
