Boilermaker George Fisher Mine – Hoisting and Shafts Mount Isa, Queensland, Australia Reference No: 37441 We have an opportunity for a skilled and experienced Boilermaker to join the Hoisting and Shafts Maintenance team at George Fisher Mine. The position is residential in Mount Isa and requires the applicant to safely and effectively perform planned and breakdown maintenance tasks while promoting site safety values and ensuring the highest standards of work are conducted in a professional manner. The Role We are looking for a qualified Boilermaker involved in all aspects of maintenance, including routine maintenance, repairs, and servicing. In this role, you will carry out workshop fabrication duties, routine scheduled maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and completing breakdown repairs. You will work effectively both as part of a team and independently in a dynamic and challenging environment with a high focus on planned maintenance. Reporting to the Hoisting and Shaft Assets Supervisor, you will have the ability to make decisions, meet deadlines, and possess exceptional communication skills. The roster for this role is 4 on 4 off, 4 on 2 off days only. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Safe and efficient repairs to Double Drum Winders, Ground Mounted Friction Winder, conveyor belts, hydraulic systems, Shaft steelwork, Winder rope maintenance, and rope changes. Routine maintenance and servicing of Fixed Plant across the operation. Workshop fabrication duties and the development of apprentices. Interpreting scale drawings or specifications to determine job requirements and materials. Maintaining and improving OH&S and overall operational standards in the workplace. You will have the following skillset and attributes: Boilermaker qualification or similar. A high focus on safety. Ability to read and interpret mechanical/schematic drawings. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail. Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure. Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment. Good communication skills. Willingness and ability to learn new processes. Hold a current Australian Manual Drivers Licence. Experience in SAP and Microsoft Office would be an advantage. Hold a forklift, doggers, or riggers competency.
