About the Role We are seeking Boilermakers at our Olympic Dam site to provide fabrication support and expertise to other trades and workgroups in our site crew. As a member of the site crew, it will be required to use hand tools or semi-automated equipment to construct and fabricate components safely, to quality and time specifications and standards while assisting in other areas as required.
This role may be offered as a residential or DIDO role, depending on the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities Examine work for defects and measure with straight edges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications; Provide direction to Trade Assistants in the performance of their duties; Ensure all respective works comply with relevant Australian Standards, BCA, Local Ordinances and other relevant codes and standards; Ensure that work is organised and executed in a timely manner; Ensure material, labour, plant and equipment is used as effectively and efficiently as possible; Read and interpret drawings and/or specifications to determine job requirements; Competently and safely operate manual or semi-automatic tools and equipment to perform fabrication tasks; Participate in shift/swing handover prior to finishing work to ensure other employees are aware of all relevant information. Skills and Experience Trade qualified - Boilermaker trade Previous experience in a similar role Construction Induction (white card) Demonstrated attention to detail Ability to work independently under minimal supervision; Class C drivers license; Willingness to work at other Ahrens Group locations if required.
