Board Member, Tasmanian Community Fund

Details of the offer

The Organisation   The Tasmanian Community Fund (TCF) has provided crucial support to communities for over 25 years since its establishment in 1999.
Created from the proceeds of the Trust Bank sale, its mission is to enhance the social, environmental, and economic wellbeing of Tasmanians, making it a cornerstone for community development.
With over $137 million awarded to more than 3,000 projects, TCF has positively transformed lives and strengthened communities across Tasmania.
TCF focuses on several key areas that resonate deeply with the community: community wellbeing, increasing workforce engagement, community infrastructure, leadership and capacity building, removing barriers to learning, and meeting community needs.
By holding two grant rounds each year, along with targeted initiatives, when necessary, TCF remains agile and responsive to the evolving aspirations of Tasmanians.
This proactive approach not only empowers local organisations but also ignites creativity and innovation in addressing community challenges.

As a board member you will be responsible for:   Providing overall strategic direction for the TCF and promote its objectives within the Tasmanian community.
Assessing and approving grants to non-profit community organisations and attending site visits, community events and presentations on behalf of the board.
Approving annual operational and grant budgets to ensure financial sustainability and maximising the positive impact TCF grants have for communities.
Providing good governance through contributing to board committees and evaluating the performance of the TCF, its Board and management.
The Tasmanian Community Fund is recruiting three new board members in this process.
At the conclusion of the process, a new chair will be selected from the new and existing members of the board.
If you have the interest and experience to be considered for the chair role, please indicate this in your application.
