About the role
As the Birds Nest Senior Chef , you will play a pivotal role in leading and inspiring the culinary team at our renowned Birds Nest Fortitude Valley , located in the heart of Brisbane's CBD.
This full-time position will see you oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, from menu development to staff management, ensuring the delivery of an exceptional dining experience for our customers.
What you'll be doing
Supervise and mentor the kitchen team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment Ensure the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, and quality control Manage food costs and inventory to maintain profitability Work closely with the Front of House team to align service and culinary experiences Comply with all relevant health, safety, and food hygiene regulations What we're looking for
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Senior Chef in a high-volume, fine dining restaurant environment Strong culinary skills and a deep understanding of flavour profiles, food trends, and industry best practices Excellent leadership and people management abilities, with a track record of building and developing successful teams Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Passion for using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and a commitment to sustainable food practices Relevant qualifications in Culinary Arts or a related field What we offer
