Join our team as a Biodiversity Officer and play a vital role in delivering key actions from the Biodiversity Strategy.
You will provide strategic advice to council staff and collaborate with various stakeholders to protect and enhance biodiversity values across the municipality.
What you'll be working on Lead the implementation of the Biodiversity Strategy and other key biodiversity projects.
Facilitate the delivery of biodiversity-related grants, including the Peri-urban Weed Management Partnership.
Engage the community through initiatives like habitat gardens, iNaturalist projects, and green industries.
Provide expert advice on planning applications that affect biodiversity.
Collaborate with Traditional Owners to integrate Indigenous land management practices.
Strengthen the protection of significant species and biodiversity areas.
What you need to succeed Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or Natural Resource Management and significant experience working in Conservation and Environment.
In-depth knowledge of native vegetation, fauna management, and relevant environmental legislation.
Strong communication, project management, and GIS mapping skills.
Experience working with community engagement and grant applications.
