Big Buddy Coordinator

Summary: This position will have a strong community focus and will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Big Buddy Project (BBP). They will ensure any related Funding Agreement requirements are met, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are achieved through recording of their results. They will coordinate a structured and community led project developed to assist Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth aged 12 to 17 years to identify enabling behaviour's that deter them from drug and other substance use and misuse.
Responsibilities: Creating and enforcing rules and boundaries that encourage positive behaviour Planning and leading educational activities that are physically and emotionally healthy, including sexual and reproductive health Strengthen communication and relationship skills with peers, parents and community Help develop practical life skills such as manual arts, music and cooking Preparing and serving meals and snacks Maintaining a clean and organized environment Administering first aid when necessary Communicating with parents and guardians about any concerns or issues that may arise Qualifications: Warm and caring personality, patience, and empathy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple tasks at once Certification in CPR and first aid may be required Some experience working with children, either through previous childcare jobs, volunteer work, or personal experience. Current Drivers Licence and Drivers Authorisation licence required Working with Children suitability Notice (Blue Card)
