Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fleet Manager to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our fleet in North Maclean. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for optimizing fleet performance, ensuring the safety and compliance of all operations, and leading a team of dedicated drivers. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily fleet activities, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery while managing vehicle scheduling, routing, and operations.Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules to ensure all vehicles are in optimal working condition and comply with safety standards.Communicate with clients to determine transportation requirements and offer advice on vehicle type, purchase or hire rates, and obligations. Handle customer complaints and resolve any issues related to the fleet service.Plan and implement transportation schedules, including the collection, delivery, and unloading of goods, ensuring that all items are transported in conditions that maintain their quality.Ensure adherence to all occupational health and safety regulations, as well as transportation industry standards, in all fleet activities.Track and assess fleet performance metrics, establishing KPIs to ensure continuous operational improvements and high service quality.Supervise and lead a team of drivers, providing training and guidance to ensure compliance with legal requirements, safety protocols, and company policies.Negotiate with suppliers for cost-effective purchasing, maintenance contracts, and fuel procurement. Maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction.Maintain business records, prepare operational statements, reports, and performance assessments to support decision-making and improve operational efficiency. Qualifications and Skills AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in Transport, Logistics, or a related field.Minimum 3 years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or transport, with a proven track record of driving operational efficiency.Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team.Strong understanding of compliance regulations and workplace safety, including the ability to manage driver certifications and vehicle maintenance records.Excellent problem-solving abilities and an analytical approach to improving operational performance.Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
