Project Coordinator - Engagement and Impact Barwon Community Legal Service – Belmont VIC

Barwon Community Legal Service is an independent not-for-profit organisation providing free legal services to vulnerable community members experiencing disadvantage.
Our main office is in Belmont and we assist clients at a number of outreach locations in the Barwon region, and at Geelong and Colac Magistrates courts.

The Role
As Project Coordinator - Engagement and Impact, you will play a key role in developing and implementing law reform and advocacy strategies to address issues affecting our clients and communities.
Working collaboratively across the organisation and with key partners, you will lead initiatives to build internal capacity, identify systemic challenges, and create pathways for impactful advocacy.
Core responsibilities include project planning, implementing evaluation frameworks, and reporting on program impact.
You'll also support community engagement by assisting with community legal education, resource development, and communications.
Engaging with agencies, local stakeholders, and national organizations will be central to your role as you build awareness of our services and enhance our profile.

About You
You hold tertiary qualifications in Law, Public Policy, Community Development, or a related field, complemented by a commitment to social justice and professional ethics.
With experience in evaluation, outcomes measurement, and data collection, you bring a strong foundation in developing effective processes and systems, along with leadership in client service.
Ideally, you have experience in law reform or policy work within community-focused settings and have worked with vulnerable and diverse communities.

Your knowledge of community legal centre practices, combined with strong project management and framework adherence skills, makes you effective at planning and delivering impactful initiatives.
You excel at building collaborative relationships with stakeholders and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, including high-quality report writing for varied audiences.
Proficient with IT and quick to adapt to new platforms, you're also experienced in supervising interns and volunteers, fostering a supportive project environment.
Compassionate, diligent, and client-centered, you're driven to make a meaningful impact through your work.

The Offer
Part-time position - 22.8-30.4 hours per week Fixed term to June 30, 2025 with possibility to extend (funding dependent) Above Award Wages - SCHADS Award level 6 - annual base salary $108,512 - $113,304 (depending on experience) plus superannuation, leave loading and salary packaging Five weeks annual leave and three free leave days (pro rata for part time) between Christmas and New Year We provide a varied, professional, engaging and supportive work environment.
