Banksy Bar & Kitchen is a modern cafe and cocktail bar in Broadbeach, Gold Coast, QLD offering dine in and takeaway food and drink options. There is seating for 60-80 customers. Our focus is giving customers a comfortable and welcoming experience where ever detail has been considered for their comfort and enjoyment. Our coffee beans are certified organic, roasted by Quest Coffee Roasters, offered for purchase and used for coffee service. We have an openingfor an experienced Barista All Rounder for 30-40hrs per week (casual basis).Our team is young, energised, passionate, and you'll be supported by experienced professionals from coffee, product, business, and software backgrounds. We believe social and environmental business sustainability is essential to the health of our society.RESPONSIBILITIESPromotes coffee and food consumption by educating customers.Welcomes customers by determining their coffee and food interests and needs.Prepares and sells coffee drinks and other beverages by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques such as, espresso, latte, cold brew, milkshake, and smoothie.Running Food:Delivering food orders from the kitchen to the appropriate tables, ensuring accuracy and prompt service.Clearing and Cleaning Tables:Keeping the dining area tidy and presentable, clearing tables after customers leave, and promptly resetting them for the next guests.General Cleaning:Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the cafe, including regular cleaning of surfaces, floors, and equipment.Dishwashing:Ensuring timely and efficient cleaning of dishes, glassware, and utensils to maintain a smooth workflow and support kitchen operations.Customer Service at Till:Assisting customers at the cash register, processing transactions accurately, and providing friendly and attentive service.Handling and Serving Food:Preparing and serving food items, such as pastries, sandwiches, and snacks, following established recipes and presentation guidelines.Assisting with Opening and Closing:Supporting the team in preparing the cafe for opening and ensuring all tasks are completed at the end of the day for a smooth closing process.Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organisation standards and Food Health & Safety regulationsABOUT YOUPROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS1 or more years of recent experience as a professional barista.Consistent and well practiced latte art.Excellent listening and verbal communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.Familiarity with Food Health & Safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.RSA (or able to attain within 30 days of employment)NICE TO HAVECertification in Hospitality or related industry.Experienced in a fast paced cafe.Experience as a Cafe Manager, and or Opening / Closing Cafe.Food handling experience.PERSONAL REQUIREMENTSAustralian citizen or resident with an appropriate long term visa to work in AustraliaAvailability to work at 2 weekend days every weekAvailability to work shifts from 5am to 4pm for between 4 and 9 hrs.Loves coffee and teaOwn transport to and from workPERSONAL QUALITIESYou strive for open and honest communication with respect for othersProfessional demeanour and a desire to exceed expectationsStrong customer focus and empathyDesire to learnYou are reliable, punctual, and organisedYou like getting things done and care about how they get doneYou are proactive and self-directed, identifying issues and opportunities ahead of timeYou strive for achievement and making a differenceBENEFITSCasual: $31 to $33 / hr Base Rate + penalties & superSupport from a great team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.Enviable working location at a new and modern cafe in Broadbeach.HOW TO APPLYPlease submit your CV and a short cover letter using the form below and we'll reach out to you to schedule an initial chat.
