Patisserie Petunia Bakery and Café is Sydney's leading artisan bakery. We are looking for a full-time Baker/Pastry Chef. The opportunity on offer is Full Time with a rotating roster weekly.
Use your passion for bakery and your desire to collaborate, learn, and grow with some of the best people in the industry while you work at our purpose-built state-of-the-art baking facility located in Newtown/Rozelle.
You:
- Have a minimum understanding of pastry/baking including weighing, mixing dough, laminating, and baking using a deck oven. Be keen to learn and be trained in all aspects of professional baking.
- Ability to use a dough sheeter efficiently to create perfectly laminated dough.
- Understanding of pastry theory and use of the oven; must have knowledge of sourdough and hand moulding.
- Ability to work in a team of pastry chefs and apprentices.
- Ability to work with a fast-paced team without compromising on quality or consistency.
- Ability to work unsupervised or in a team; initiative and highly motivated.
- Perform proper and safe operation of bakery equipment and utensils.
- Clear understanding of HACCP and OHS/WHS.
- Punctual and well presented.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Full working rights in Australia, WHV, temp visa, etc. Sponsorship available for the right experience.
