Role Overview Based in our Tuggerah Practice, The Back Office Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the efficient delivery of dental health services by managing infection control, records, and supplies. This role also involves coaching Dental Assistants and stepping in to assist when required.
Key Responsibilities: Stock Management: Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available for procedures, including: Ordering and planning for implant surgeries Managing implant kits and surgical supplies Tracking interclinic transfers Records Management: Monitor the release of Penthrox and other high-risk items Check that all emergency equipment is available and in date Maintain complete and accurate sterilization logs for audits Ensure all implant consignments are scanned and entered into patient files Verify lab work is completed at least three days before appointments Handle disinfection, packaging, labeling, and paperwork for all laboratory work Infection Control: Oversee end-of-day surgery shut down procedures Ensure surgeries are fully stocked during dental procedures Maintain sterilization protocols in accordance with ADA standards Organize routine deep cleans of surgeries and common areas Ensure sterile setups are free from contamination risks Ensure consent forms are provided and returned for patient files Staff Support: Coach and support Dental Assistants in partnership with the Practice Manager Coordinate Dental Assistant coverage and breaks Provide clinical assistance as a Dental Assistant when necessary Position Criteria: Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting Previous experience as a Dental Assistant Strong understanding of infection control principles Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Proven ability to work collaboratively and mentor others Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to quality, patient-focused care Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change Flexibility in tasks, location, and hours of work Commitment to ongoing education and professional development Why Join Us?
