As a B2B Content Marketing Strategist, you will harness the power of your marketing skills to own the relationship with CMOs, VPs of Marketing, Head of Content and other roles at B2B SaaS companies and act as their confidant and strategic advisor on how they run their content marketing engine. You need to be good with people and provide strategic and tactical insight in a way that the C-suite can understand and the front-line team can act upon.
Core Responsibilities: Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives, target audience, and industry landscape, and develop content marketing strategies that align with client goals and objectives. Conduct content audits and competitive analyses to identify content gaps, opportunities, and areas for improvement, and develop recommendations to enhance content performance and effectiveness. Develop comprehensive content plans, including content calendars, themes, topics, and formats, that align with client objectives, target audience preferences, and buyer journey stages. Lead the creation and production of high-quality, engaging content across various formats, including blog posts, articles, whitepapers, case studies, infographics, videos, webinars, and social media posts. Collaborate with internal teams, including editors, writers, designers, and subject matter experts, to develop content assets aligned with client objectives, brand guidelines, and messaging strategies. Optimize content for search engines (SEO) and user experience (UX), incorporating relevant keywords, meta tags, and on-page optimization techniques to improve organic visibility and drive traffic and engagement. Develop and execute content distribution and promotion plans to maximize reach, engagement, and conversions, leveraging owned, earned, and paid channels, including email, social media, influencer partnerships, and content syndication. Develop email drip campaigns with experience in marketing automation and tech stack optimization. Monitor and analyze content performance and metrics, including traffic, engagement, conversions, and ROI, and provide insights and recommendations for optimization and improvement. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in content marketing, and share insights and recommendations with clients and internal teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation. Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on content marketing best practices, trends, and strategies, providing guidance and support to clients and internal teams to drive success and achieve business objectives. Qualifications for the Role: 5+ years of experience in content marketing, with a proven track record of success in developing and executing content strategies for B2B clients. Deep understanding of B2B marketing principles, tactics, and strategies, with experience in targeting and engaging key decision-makers and influencers across multiple industries. Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable content plans and deliverables that drive measurable results. Exceptional async communication and ability to lead client presentations to persuade at all levels of an organization. Experience with content creation and production across various formats, including blog posts, articles, whitepapers, case studies, infographics, videos, webinars, and social media posts. Proficiency in content management systems (CMS), marketing automation platforms, and analytics tools (e.g., WordPress, HubSpot, Google Analytics) is a plus. Proficiency in tools like SparkToro, Ahrefs and SEMRush. Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while delivering high-quality work on time and within budget. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and internal teams to drive alignment, consensus, and success. Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement, with a willingness to explore new ideas, technologies, and strategies to drive results and achieve business objectives. Experience You Need to be Successful: 2 - 4 years of working for a digital marketing agency in a related position with SaaS. Minimum of 2 years recommending agency services to clients successfully. Minimum of 2 years leading client kick-off/discovery meetings. Minimum of 2 years leading full-funnel content marketing initiatives.
