About the role Mater Hospital is looking for a Full time, fixed term Advanced trainee in Adolescent and Young Adult medicine at the Mater Young Adult Health Centre Brisbane (MYAHCB) for 2025. The primary duties are to provide health assessments and care to young people with substance use concerns in a therapeutic residential facility as well as community follow-up.
The trainee will also provide care to adolescents and young adults with chronic health conditions in ambulatory clinics and in-patient settings. The position is supervised by an Adolescent and Young Adult Physician and is an accredited AYA training position with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). The trainee will work as part of multidisciplinary teams with the MYAHCB and be expected to participate in teaching, research and mentoring of junior colleagues.
This is a great opportunity for an advance trainee to gain experience in AYA medicine, including AOD, sexual health, gender health and mental health as well as managing chronic and complex health condition in this population.
