What you'll be doing As an Automation Technology Specialist, you will design and develop innovative automation solutions to meet customer requirements and work closely with the Airline Automation Lead to enhance team expertise. Your primary focus will be on Sabre Intelligence Exchange (IX) to improve Virgin Australia's processes across a range of business areas and explore Generative AI technologies. You'll also play a key role in sharing knowledge, training teammates, and leveraging new technologies to drive team success and elevate customer experience.
You'll be great in this role if you... Have a degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.5+ years' experience in software development.Proven hands-on experience with cloud computing (AWS), Java (11 or newer), Oracle SQL, Grafana/Prometheus and GitLab.Strong understanding of automation technologies, their integration and potential impact on our operations.Can demonstrate the ability to design and develop innovative solutions.Passion for technology, continuous learning, and the ability to research and adopt new tools and techniques.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and key stakeholders.Able to work independently, managing competing priorities and deadlines.Desirable but not essential... AWS Solution Architect Associate or associated Google Cloud Certifications.Familiarity with Sabre Intelligence Exchange, Passenger Service Systems (PSS) and flight operations.Familiarity with airline systems like Sabre or Amadeus PSS.Understanding of Generative AI technologies.Experience with tools like ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence, Lucidchart, and Microsoft Teams.Knowledge of automation technologies, APIs, workflow tools, and chatbot technologies.What you'll get from us We're committed to looking after you, with some of the best benefits and conditions in the industry – including (but not limited to):
