Tassal Group, Australia's premier seafood producer, is seeking a highly skilled Automation and Control Specialist to join our team in Proserpine, QLD or in Hobart, TAS. What you'll be doing: Design, develop, and implement innovative automation solutions to optimise our aquaculture operations.Program and configure PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, Omron) and SCADA systems (Ignition, FactoryTalk) to control critical processes.Develop instrumentation and control designs, including P&IDs, loop diagrams, network diagrams, and control philosophies.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement automation opportunities.Troubleshoot and resolve automation system issues to ensure optimal performance.Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.What you'll need to succeed: Extensive experience in PLC and SCADA programming in both greenfield and brownfield environments.Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).Proficiency in Python programming, SQL databases, and network technologies (including wireless and LoraWan).Experience with robotics, advanced automation technologies, and cyber security.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.A proactive and results-oriented approach.A willingness to travel up to 1 week per month.Legal right to work in Australia.Why join Tassal?
