Your Role The Head Technical is responsible for leading the engineering and technology workforce that sets and enforces the technical requirements and standards for the acquisition, construction, operation, maintenance and decommissioning of Australia's nuclear-powered submarines and their supporting systems and infrastructure.
This is a core role within the ASA that requires you to build a team of highly qualified and experienced people including public service officers and contractors to manage and advise on the full range of technologies employed within the nuclear-powered submarines including nuclear, mechanical, electrical, naval architectural, electronics, explosive ordnance, materials and information systems. The position will be delegated critical technical decisions that ensure the safe and effective operation of the submarines in service.
As a member of the senior leadership group, you must be able to promote a culture of innovation, collaboration and agility. You must also be able to effectively manage complex legislative and commercial frameworks to achieve capability outcomes for Defence and the Australian Government.
