Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC)Firearms Capability Manager – National Firearms ProgramThe Firearms Capability Manager, National Firearms Program is responsible for a range of activities related to the ongoing management and technical user support of the Australian Firearms Information Network (AFIN) and the National Firearms Identification Database (NFID). This ranges from high level secretariat for a national firearms advisory body and providing program advice, to overseeing a team responding to user enquiries, access and change requests.
The key duties of the position include:Secretariat for the quarterly AFIN User Advisory Group.Leading a team, including building team capability and delivering projects.Responsive group inbox management for two policing information systems including, prioritisation, assistance and management of defects, and enhancements across business systems.Develop and implement effective standards and processes including continuous improvement to service delivery through reporting, analysis and planning.Development of briefs, reports and presentations for a senior or ministerial audience.Building trusted and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Develop and maintain knowledge of Australian firearm regulation, firearm types and emerging technology.Our ideal candidateTo be successful in this role, you can demonstrate that you are:

Security Clearance - The Australian community expects ACIC employees to maintain the highest levels of security and integrity. Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
Pre-Employment Screening – All candidates must satisfy an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to being offered employment at the ACIC.
