Director Governance, Analysis and Reporting Canberra ACT
The key duties of the position include: The Role
The Director Governance, Analysis and Reporting role (GAR) will lead a small team of experts to ensure Navy Capability has the professional governance, analysis and reporting systems and processes to effectively support the Maritime Domain.
This area will lead the Maritime Domain's view of risk analysis, governance, and assurance activities, as well as business data analytics and reporting.
The successful applicant will have a significant impact on delivering the strategic priorities of Navy Capability Division.
This role has management and leadership responsibilities so the ability to work with a wide range of people to deliver effective results will be a key requirement.
While a detailed knowledge of Navy is not essential, an understanding of the complexities involved in working in blended teams with APS, ADF and contracted staff will be an advantage.
Finally, you will support a One Defence culture, managing teams that demonstrate best practice in collaboration and cross-Defence engagement.

About our Team The GAR Director role sits within the Maritime Domain Support Branch (MDSB) within Navy Capability Division.
The MDSB is the core enabling and executive support area working across Navy Capability Division.
MDSB supports the Head of Navy Capability (HNC) to establish requirements for and then acquire future maritime capability.
The vision of the MDSB is "Enabling and Supporting maritime domain capability delivery to the Integrated Joint Force".
The Joint Force relates to the entirety of the Australian Defence Force; Army, Navy and Air Force.

Key Outcomes for the MDSB Optimised multi-program and warfighting capability outcomes for the Maritime Domain.
Capability outcomes are prioritised and adapted to provide greater responsiveness to a dynamic strategic environment.
Data is utilised effectively to drive improved and more efficient decision making.
More effective risk identification and management.
Migration of the Division from a project focus to capability effects focus.
Improved enabling support services to HNC and Program Sponsors.
Embedded cultural change through professionalisation and encouraging One Defence collaborative behaviours.
Our Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidate for this role will work collaboratively with other leaders to embed a positive working culture and deliver high quality outcomes.
A strong ability to think strategically and build and maintain effective working relationships will be essential.
There is a small core of specialist staff with varying specialties including risk assurance, governance and data analysis that the successful candidate will need to oversee and direct.
Therefore a proven ability to lead diverse and blended teams is essential for this role.
Having a focus on program and project management will also be critical, as will the need to adhere to Defence procedures, policies and legislative requirements.

Security Clearance Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at "Negative Vetting Level 1".
