Joint Capabilities Group (JCG) is seeking a highly motivated EL1 Support Network Analysis to provide analysis and coordination within the new National Support Division.
In response to the National Defence Strategy, the Government directed Defence to establish a National Support Division (NSD) and National Support Concept.
The NSD coordinates Defence's ability to plan, organise and draw upon whole-of government and whole-of-nation capabilities to improve Defence and the nation's resilience.
This provides an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to contribute to the direction and development of the new Division.
We are seeking applications from high-performing logistics professionals who have proven abilities to think and act strategically, manage a team, and provide functional advice and support to leadership to accomplish outcomes in business planning, operations and coordination functions.
About our Team
National Support teams will work collaboratively to enable Defence to plan, organise and draw upon whole-of government and whole-of-nation capabilities to improve Defence and the nation's resilience.
Led by Head National Support, NSD staff will work with Joint Logistics Command (JLC), JCG and the other Groups within Defence to contribute to NSD and Defence wide outcomes.
NSD is an integrated workforce comprised of both APS and ADF staff.
We work together in a dynamic environment towards the goal of ensuring national preparedness.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute advice and expertise at the foundational level for the NSD.
Deputy Directors can expect to engage across Defence and as required across Whole of Government and industry.
Our Ideal Candidate
An ideal National Support Division Deputy Director will need the ability to work collaboratively, providing management, advice and support within a team and developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
You will require the ability to work effectively with JCG's Divisions and Commands and other groups across Defence to achieve Group and Defence wide outcomes.
To be successful in a National Support management role, you will need to demonstrate:
Deep technical expertise and knowledge of logistics networks across the National Support Base.
Strong communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to lead yourself and others through collaborative relationships and planning.
The ability to make recommendations to resolve problems using expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action.
High-level organisational skills, self-drive and initiative with the ability to influence others to achieve tasks and business objectives.
The ability to actively influence and engage personnel within the business to ensure that directorate risks are identified and addressed proactively.
In-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and policy requirements.
Qualifications in Business Administration, Logistics, Public Administration or related discipline.
The interpersonal skills to foster and promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with Defence values.
