In order to accomplish this, the NLC is looking for a suitably experienced and enthusiastic Manager Minerals & Energy to join our highly skilled and engaged Resources and Energy team.
About the Role
This Darwin-based position will report to The Resources and Energy Branch Manager.
The principal objective of the Manager Minerals & Energy is to manage and oversee the Minerals & Energy Unit staff and managerial activities to promote and support NLC compliance with statutory functions and duties, contractual obligations, and other requirements.
Monitor and review minerals and energy exploration and production project activities and reports.
What You Will Bring:
We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated individual who is passionate about developing people and building an inclusive culture.
You will have a wealth of experience in stakeholder engagement and demonstrated capability in holding meetings and consultations.
You will have a solid background, experience, and working understanding of the minerals and energy sectors in order to provide specialist advice to the Unit, its constituents, and the NLC.
You will have a working understanding of associated legislation.
You will also bring strong organisational, managerial, and leadership experience.
In addition to this, you will have:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, law, or other suitable discipline.
Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in a similar role.
Minimum 5 years' experience leading a team to deliver projects, meetings, and other related tasks on time and in accordance with NLC requirements.
Understanding of the Aboriginal Land Rights (NT) Act 1976 and the Native Title Act 1993 and other legislation relevant to the land interests of traditional owners and Aboriginal communities, as managed by the NLC is highly desirable.
Current C Class Drivers Licence and the ability and willingness to undertake remote travel in a manual 4WD vehicle or light aircraft.
