Inchcape combines its worldwide infrastructure with local expertise through our global network of over 240 proprietary offices, across 60 countries and a team of more than 2,500 committed professionals.Business Need / Purpose of Role:Reporting to the Port Manager, the role is to perform and direct all operational functions, in relation to a vessel's port call as directed by the principal and in accordance with government legislation and regulations, port rules and ISS procedures and policies to ensure an efficient vessel port call.Main Responsibilities:Performing vessel operations as directed by port managementControlling and directing shipping operations to ensure the safe and efficient loading and transport of cargo and passengersEnsuring compliance with regulations pertaining to safety at sea and protection of the marine environmentDirecting the activities of the crew for navigational support tasksSupporting with berthing and unberthingSupporting with the maintenance, cleaning, service and repairs of vessels and replacement of equipmentDelivering a positive customer experience to both internal and external stakeholdersEnsuring compliance with regulatory and principal requirementsProcessing inward and outward clearances of all vesselsPerforming all arrangements regarding crew movements, medical cases and crew shore passes in coordination with main office and vessel/principal requirementsEstablishing and maintaining relationships with principals, relevant government departments and agencies, local authorities and service providersPerforming accurate and timely database managementEnsuring pre-funding requests are forwarded to the principal prior to vessel arrivalsProviding the port and head office management with updated information on local rules and regulations, changes in port charges, and related requirementsEnsuring all cargoes, including dangerous goods and special cargo, are balanced, reconciled and reported within required timeframesManaging supplier invoice processing in conjunction with the shared service team centreSupporting with all port related mattersSelection Criteria:Qualifications in Maritime OperationsExperience within Shipping and Port Agency OperationsExperience in Vessel OperationsExperience in LogisticsHigh attention to detailCustomer FocusBenefits:Opportunity to work for a global leaderFlexible working arrangementsCareer growth & OpportunitiesSupportive team cultureAttractive remuneration on offerBirthday leaveStaff benefits and many moreThis role requires some work outside of normal hours, including late nights, weekends, or public holidays.Why Inchcape Shipping Services?We believe in building a diverse and high performing workforce, that works together to provide our customers with the exceptional service they deserve.
