About the Role The Project PMO Manager is a newly established multi-year cloud adoption program that will transform the data, models and credit risk calculation systems that underpin our Stress Testing, Credit Provisions, and Regulatory Capital services.
The Project PMO Manager will bring their combined scheduling and project delivery expertise to implement best practice PMO disciplines across multiple workstreams - playing a key role in setting the Program up for successful delivery.
Broader than a portfolio-level PMO role, you will adopt a hands-on approach, working closely with the workstream leads to review and challenge, and uplift project delivery.
Role Type: Initial 12 months Fixed-term Role Location: 833 Collins Street Docklands VIC 3008 Work Hours: 40 hours per week What will your day look like? As the Project PMO Manager, you will: Establish streamlined and fit for purpose processes to develop, manage and track the integrated program schedule (to task level) and lead the program-wide planning activities.
Use visualization tools (e.g., VBA, Power Point) to bring the schedule "to life" and anchor the workstreams around a common understanding of the scope, critical path, milestones, and inter-dependencies.
Chair weekly stream lead status meetings.
Establish cadence and processes to actively manage scope, budget, resources, dependencies, and benefits.
Ensure timely identification, resolution & escalation of key risks, issues, and dependencies.
Coordinate population of Steerco packs, undertaking 'review and challenge' to ensure meaningful status reporting from the stream leads.
Prepare Steerco agendas, capture minutes, and manage actions.
Develop a detailed and value-add PMO playbook that adheres to ANZ's delivery framework (ADF), and articulates 'ways of working' including establishing the governance processes, roles and responsibilities aligned to deliverables (RACI), program controls, and resource management.
Maintain PPM – ANZ's core project portfolio management system for monthly status updates, health indicators, risk and issues, key milestones, benefits, and financials.
Assist the Program Director in documenting compelling funding submissions and managing the yearly funding activities.
What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: Mastery level of proficiency in the use of scheduling and visualization reporting tools for developing detailed plans e.g., MS Project, VBA, JIRA, Power Point, Excel, Visio, Confluence, and collaboration tools.
Extensive experience establishing and embedding PMO/project delivery processes.
Brings a multitude of best practice tools and techniques for building an integrated schedule and upskilling SMEs in the adoption of project delivery practices.
Proficient in supporting hybrid agile and waterfall delivery, with an adaptable style that can flex between different tools and approaches that best meet the needs of the teams.
Proven project delivery experience on multi-stream regulatory programs, involving data sourcing and systems integration.
Deep understanding of end-to-end project delivery through the SDLC lifecycle with good experience in solution vendor management.
Skills Strong visual, written, and verbal communication skills.
Confident facilitator/meeting chair and effectively brings people together across multiple workstreams to negotiate aligned outcomes.
Comfortable with uncertainty, can remain effective in ambiguous environments and work autonomously with minimal direction.
Project Management Professional accreditation (e.g., SAFe, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PRINCE2).
Project experience in banking and basic understanding of credit risk metrics and reporting processes is preferred, but not essential.
E.g., IFRS9, Capital Management.
You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
