The Role:
We are seeking an experienced QA Assessor to join our team on the afternoon shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM).
This full-time, permanent role will report to the QA Supervisor in the Production Department.
You will be responsible for ensuring the consistent production quality of mechanical items produced both in house and through outsourced suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure production quality meets the company's established standards.
Create In Process Inspection Plans (IPC) for mechanical items produced on-site.
Inspect mechanical components to verify they match detailed drawings and CAD models.
Conduct inspections of mechanical items, logging results in work orders.
Review non-conformance reports, escalating issues as necessary.
Package and dispatch finished goods from in house production.
Provide value adding to machined parts through processes like metal finishing.
Operate Horizontal and Vertical Machine Centres, as well as Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
Use a Measuring Arm to compare physical items to solid CAD models.
Support other factory duties as needed.
Who We're Looking For:
Ideally you will have a background as a QA Assessor, Manufacturing Quality Engineer, Quality Engineer, or similar with a Certificate III in Engineering and at least five years of post-trade experience.
Hands on experience in mechanical assembly, prototype creation, and 3D modelling (SolidWorks preferred).
Advanced skill with manual machining, working with aluminium, fitting, fabrication, and precision measurement tools.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word at an intermediate level.
Excellent attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to stay focused.
Strong organisational and communication skills, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's licence and overhead crane chaser licence.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in dynamic environments.
