As the Senior Sourcing Specialist, you will drive and lead effective sourcing activity to obtain an outcome that optimises total cost of ownership for AusNet Services.
With a Hybrid split Office/WFH, this role can be based in Melbourne CBD and is part of the Development & Future Networks team.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to: Lead development of internal category profiles for the assigned categories (historical spend analysis, category criticality assessment, identification of constraints) and align with internal customers. Contribute to Category Risk Profiling in support of the Category & Commercial Managers, incorporating trend analysis and market insights to identify future risks and potential mitigatory strategies. Define approach for the continuous analysis and evaluation of internal factors (e.g. technical requirements, services requirements) and external factors (e.g. supply market dynamics, impact assessment) to derive input for category management, executing with the support of Sourcing Specialists. Develop sourcing strategies and methods for the assigned categories based on supply and demand power analysis and align with internal customers (also covering non-commercial levers like specification improvement, strategic supplier partnerships, etc.). Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for assigned categories, including impact assessments, internal stakeholder management plans, and up-front evaluations of the suitability of existing major partners. Develop project plans based on market engagement event requirements, including workload, Procurement and Corporate resource requirements, risks, and timelines, working closely with Category & Commercial Managers. Manage preparation of RFx documentation including bid templates tailored to specific category requirements, working with Sourcing Specialists to develop necessary collateral. Work with Category & Commercial Managers to bring together cross-functional teams in supplier negotiations, providing category insights and analytical support as required. Develop stakeholder engagement plans prior to commencement of sourcing events, based on business requirements and Procurement team knowledge and capability, for approval by Category & Commercial Managers. Proactively develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across AusNet Services and the broader industry. You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of: Masters/MBA is an advantage. Professional qualification/certification from a related professional body, e.g. Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS), is an advantage. Minimum 5 years sourcing experience. Current knowledge and experience with the utilities industry is an advantage. Current knowledge and experience with financial budgeting and planning is an advantage. Tech proficiency: Advanced competency with productivity tools (Microsoft Office e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is mandatory; competency with procurement enterprise systems (e.g. ERP systems, e-Procurement tools) is an advantage.
