Audit Training Manager Job no: 494482Work type: Full timeLocation: PerthCategories: Assurance & Advisory POSITION SUMMARY The purpose of this position is to develop, deliver and manage the audit training programme for RSM Australia, in order to fulfill a key pillar of the firm's System of Quality Management. This includes the creation and maintenance of presentations, case studies, courses, webinars and other material for the firm's audit and assurance practice. It also involves identifying training needs through analysis of the firm's monitoring activities, performing monitoring over compliance with training and CPD requirements. While primarily audit focused, there may also be some involvement in developing or monitoring firmwide technical training, or training for other divisions.Key Responsibilities: Influencing, leading or participating in programs of work to improve audit quality, including creation of tools and guidance for the assurance practice that promote both quality and efficiency initiatives. Management of the training aspects of the firm's system of quality management, including developing a competency-based training framework, and a comprehensive curriculum for the audit and assurance service lines, and monitoring compliance with that framework. Design and implementation of the relevant aspects of RSM Australia's System of Quality Management as it relates to human resource development. Liaison with other relevant stakeholders in the development, monitoring and delivery of audit training, including the Head of Audit, Head of Quality, and the Learning and Development team. Work with the Learning and Development team to develop and improve systems for managing and monitoring compliance with firm training requirements, including a consequences policy for non-compliance. Develop, facilitate and present training and self-study materials, including drafting of learning objectives, course materials, case studies, and practice aides by serving as content author and/or technical reviewer. Preparation of thought leadership materials, including website articles, practice aids, and guidance statements. Participate in other monitoring activities, in order to understand common quality challenges and development areas. This may include hot or cold file reviews, or other more targeted monitoring activities. Participate in external outreach activities related to audit quality and training (e.g., Institute working groups, ASIC or CAANZ liaison, and other industry events as appropriate). Assist in RSM International projects relating to Audit or Assurance technical training as required. There may also be a role in assisting other service lines, or even external parties such as Auditors General, in developing their training frameworks in accordance with the requirements of APES 320. While the individual would not be expected to develop or deliver technical training to other service lines, they may be required to assist in developing best practice for curriculum development, CPD management etc. Essential Qualifications: Completed CA or equivalent. Experience as a Manager or Senior Manager in External Audit. Extensive experience in the preparation and delivery of audit and assurance training. Ability to adapt content for both in-person and online delivery. Fluent and confident speaker and presenter. Good working knowledge of IFRS and International Standards on Auditing. Experience in audit quality activities including file inspections, regulatory reviews or similar. Excellent written English, including ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a readily understandable way to staff of varying experience levels. Ability to maintain high professional and ethical standards under pressure. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in developing and implementing Systems of Quality Management.
