As a Senior Labour and Conciliation Manager, you will play a pivotal role in representing Amazon Flex in conciliation meetings with the Australian Fair Work Commission (FWC) and/or other labour arbitration bodies/regulators. You will be responsible for case intake and management. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with our legal team and enforcement owners to mitigate risks, prepare case files, and recommend strategic outcomes.

- Serve as the primary representative of Amazon Flex in conciliation meetings with the Australian Fair Work Commission (FWC) and other labour arbitration bodies.
- Clearly articulate the company's position, policies, and relevant regulations during conciliation proceedings.
- Negotiate and advocate for mutually beneficial resolutions while safeguarding the company's interests and adhering to legal guidelines.Legal Support and Risk Mitigation:
- Collaborate with the legal, enforcement, and policy teams to assess and mitigate risks associated with labour disputes, compliance issues, and regulatory changes.
- Conduct thorough analyses of all claims, evidence available, and potential repercussions of pursuing arbitration to inform strategic decision-making.
- Advise internal and external legal counsel on specifics and intricacies of SLS and FACT enforcement.
- Provide closed loop feedback to enforcement program owners to continue proactive risk mitigation initiatives.Case File Preparation and Management:
- Gather, organize, and maintain comprehensive case files, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality.
- Conduct deep dives, gather evidence with the support of the Flex I&O team, and conference with relevant stakeholders to support case preparation and defence.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external counsel to align on case strategies and timelines.Risk Assessment and Strategy Development:
- In conjunction with PC2, identify emerging risks, regulatory trends, and arbitration case outcomes impacting the company's operations, policies, and employee relations.
- Cross-functionally develop proactive risk mitigation strategies and policy recommendations to minimize legal exposure and enhance compliance.
- Develop and provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on best practices when representing Amazon as a 'witness' in arbitration proceedings.Compliance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor compliance of internal policies relating directly to the Digital Labour Platform Deactivation Code (DLDP), identifying areas for improvement or corrective action.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and legal on enforcement-related risks, trends, conciliation and arbitration outcomes. A day in the lifeAs a Senior Labour and Conciliation Manager, you'll start your day by reviewing ongoing cases and prioritizing your workload. You might attend a conciliation meeting with the Fair Work Commission, where you will articulate Amazon's position and negotiate for mutually beneficial resolutions. Later, you will collaborate with the legal team to analyze potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. You will also spend time preparing case files, gathering evidence, and conferencing with stakeholders to ensure we are well-prepared for upcoming proceedings.

Minimum Qualifications- 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience engaging with regulatory agencies in permit applications or equivalent
- Experience developing and implementing of standards, policies and programs or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Master's degree or equivalent
- Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship
