The President of SACAT is also a judge of the Supreme Court. An applicant must have completed a Bachelor of Laws (LLB). Ideally, an applicant should already be admitted as a legal practitioner and not completing Practical Legal Training or any undergraduate or Post Admission Courses. The appointment as an associate will generally be for one year and associates may not undertake other employment (either paid or non-paid) without the permission of the President. Appointment will be at the LE1 level.About the BusinessThe South Australian Civil and Administration Tribunal (SACAT) is a state tribunal that helps South Australians resolve issues within specific areas of law, either through agreement at a conference, conciliation or mediation, or through a decision of the Tribunal at hearing. SACAT also conducts reviews of Government decisions. SACAT strives to be accessible and responsive to customer needs and deals with cases in a large range of areas (or jurisdictions). The Tribunal operates across the state of South Australia and is a key part of the state justice system.Special Conditions for EmploymentEmployment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested.
