Our firm Talbot Sayer is a specialist corporate and commercial firm that provides a full service offering to our clients. We focus on providing quality, timely and cost-effective advice, and solving their most complex and important problems as commercially as possible. We are a young and dynamic firm continually growing to meet our clients' needs. We are currently looking for an associate/senior associate for our intellectual property and IT team. For all our lawyers, we pay base remuneration that is competitive with mid and top tier firms plus a monthly cash bonus of up to 50% of monthly salary linked to key client-centric objectives. We do not have billing targets. Each lawyer also receives a monthly review which facilitates contemporaneous feedback and accelerates learning, development and advancement. We also have a comprehensive training and coaching program to encourage and facilitate growth. The role An opportunity exists for an associate/senior associate with expertise in front end IP, IT and/or privacy and data security. The firm has a significant and growing number of clients in the tech space that regularly need support in all aspects of brand protection and development, IP advisory and protection, IP compliance, IT contracting, and privacy and data security advisory and compliance. You will be able to communicate and engage with clients directly, and will be responsible for managing and fostering client relationships. You will be supported by and expected to help mentor an excellent team of junior lawyers, graduates and clerks. You will work closely with partners and senior lawyers (including our head of commercial Andrew Clark and special counsel Jennifer Ashlan), who have extensive top tier and international experience. We expect any successful candidate to have trained in a well-regarded mid-tier or top tier firm, and have a well-developed understanding of their area of expertise. What we are looking for We are looking for lawyers that are well trained and have a desire to learn and grow within a dynamic and agile service offering. Your focus will be on building relationships and solving client problems, not budgets and billing.
