The Role
Our Environmental business is growing with a wide range of interesting projects and sustainable design. We are a large multidisciplinary company with iconic projects across renewables, environmental studies, dam & hydropower, solar power projects, energy transition and transportation.
Due to continued business growth, we are seeking a talented Associate Scientist – Ecology to join our Environmental team based in either Brisbane, Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast. You will play a key role in:
Ensuring that technical tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC. Applying project management principles in carrying out assigned tasks and accomplishing project deliverables to the required standard and in a timely manner. Collaborating with appropriate team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and coordination of project deliverables. Building and maintaining effective relationships internally and externally and contribute to effective client relationship management. Contributing to the commercial success of projects and the team. With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an environmental or engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
Bachelor's degree in Ecology or related discipline 10+ years' industry experience Experience in flora and fauna survey, assessment and monitoring Strong background in flora and vegetation community identification Able to plan and undertake fieldwork as part of a team Strong project management skills and the ability to liaise with clients and team members Excellent written communication and report writing skills Familiar with relevant QLD legislation How to Apply
