Fixed Term, full-time appointment (1.5 years)Level A: $93,065 - $109,033 plus 17% superannuationLocated at the University of Wollongong's School of Computing and Information Technology, the Center for Artificial Intelligence (CAI) is leading innovative research in machine learning methods and their applications.
The CAI team is dedicated to the development of machine learning algorithms for real-world applications. The team is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate Research Fellow to join their team on a collaborative project with experts in radiation physics and radiation oncology.
The Associate Research Fellow will develop, implement, and apply a novel dose engine based on deep learning to verify adaptive X-ray radiotherapy treatment plans for head and neck cancers, in collaboration with our partner hospitals across Australia, leveraging expertise in deep learning to improve radiotherapy treatment accuracy and effectiveness.
Performing research in a highly multi-disciplinary research team, including experts in AI, physicists, hospital-based medical physicists, and oncologists, this requires the successful candidate to possess relevant research experience in deep learning, have excellent communication and leadership skills, as they work in collaboration with international researchers and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students to play a vital role in the development of advanced ML techniques.
