An opportunity now exists to join RMIT's School of Health and Biomedical Sciences and contribute to the teaching and research growth within the Nursing Discipline.1 x Full time, ongoing appointment based at the Bundoora Campus.Remuneration at Academic Level C ($135,814 - $156,608) or D ($163,538 - $180,166) + 17% Super.This position will expect candidates to contribute to academic leadership duties within the Discipline.About the RoleAs the Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor, you will contribute to the leadership, teaching, scholarship, research, and industry engagement efforts of the School in the Discipline of Nursing. More specifically, you will be responsible for teaching activities in an area related to your expertise in the undergraduate program. You will maintain and continue to advance your scholarly, professional, and/or research capabilities. You will also be expected to actively promote the program by establishing and maintaining industry engagement, memberships, links, and partnerships with academic and professional communities. You will work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team, and update colleagues and students on developments in your subject area/specialisation. You will also be responsible for course coordination.Furthermore, level D appointment will also include:Providing original, innovative, and distinguished contributions to the School's programs.Making significant contributions to the planning and strategic direction of the School, taking on academic leadership roles involving participation in various committees within the School, College, and University and external to the University, as appropriate.You may be appointed in a leadership role for a specific discipline or to provide strategic leadership for learning and teaching or research and scholarship.About YouTo be successful for level C appointment, you will have:Demonstrated ability to coordinate large courses and prepare and deliver courses at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including high-quality curriculum and program materials to implement innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement.Demonstrated ability to support student issues related to effective learning and liaise with clinical agencies to support student learning and problem solve.Emerging nationally recognised research track record including a substantial record of research outputs in high-quality outlets.Experience in research leadership with the ability to build and develop collaborative research teams, mentor academic staff to deliver high-quality outcomes, attract and secure external research funding to sustain research effort, and manage funded research projects.Emerging experience in supervising higher degree by research candidates to maximise research performance.Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication, and negotiating skills including the ability to build effective networks with colleagues and external agencies to generate clinical placements for RMIT students.To be successful for level D appointment, you will have:Demonstrated ability to direct an award program/s and implement program improvements and innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement programs.Nationally recognised research track record including a substantial record of research outputs in high-quality outlets and emerging international recognition.Extensive experience in research leadership with the ability to build and develop collaborative research teams, mentor academic staff to deliver high-quality outcomes, attract and secure external research funding to sustain research effort, manage funded research projects including complex budgets and reporting requirements.Extensive experience in supervising higher degree by research candidates to maximise research performance.Demonstrated ability to lead scholarly development and manage and supervise academic teams and members.Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to financial, governance, and quality management systems within a University.Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication, and negotiating skills including the ability to consult with senior executives, external bodies, produce executive reports, negotiate agreed directions, outcomes, and targets within a collaborative environment.Proven ability as an effective member of a management team that develops and achieves shared goals and objectives.QualificationsRegistered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia as a Registered Nurse.PhD in related field or approved AQF equivalency with relevant industry experience (a minimum of seven years of full-time practice or equivalent for appointment at level B).Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children check.Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.About the CollegeThe School of Health and Biomedical Sciences comprises three Academic areas:· Clinical Sciences· Medical SciencesPrimarily based at the RMIT Bundoora campus, we undertake teaching and research across the disciplines of: Biomedical Science, Laboratory Medicine, Medical Radiations, Nursing, Osteopathy, Chiropractic, Chinese Medicine, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Science, Physiotherapy, and Psychology.The School's research was ranked as well above world standard in clinical science, complementary and alternative medicine, medical physiology, microbiology, and pharmacology & pharmaceutical sciences, and above world standard in psychology, public health & health service, and medical & health sciences.
