Creating a brighter future for life in the Tropics and beyond, through education and research that makes a difference locally, and globally, James Cook University (JCU) is now looking to appoint an Associate Professor, Nursing and Midwifery. This is a full-time continuing opportunity and is based at the JCU Townsville Bebegu-Yumba campus in Douglas.
WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE
Based at our state-of-the-art clinical teaching facilities in Townsville you will take a leadership role in the development, coordination and delivery of Nursing and Midwifery curriculum, providing innovative learning and teaching design that facilitates engaged learning experiences for a diverse range of students. You will be expected to play a significant role in scholarship, research, and/or professional activities. Additionally, you will provide mentorship to learning and teaching teams, manage projects, and contribute to fostering a robust and ambitious learning and teaching culture within Nursing and Midwifery.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
With a postgraduate qualification and current registration as a Nurse (Division 1) and/or midwife with AHPRA, you demonstrate leadership in teaching with evidence of experience in learning, teaching, and curriculum development with innovative experience in flexible blended and online approaches. You will also have a record of research publication, relative to opportunity, with appropriate evidence of quality and impact, and can demonstrate success in obtaining research funding from grants/contracts/consultancies. You must also possess strong management, leadership, research, and negotiation skills.
