About Us The School of Veterinary Medicine is responsible for the training of veterinary science graduates and the degree program have received international accreditation. A central part of the training is development of core clinical competencies and as part of this process veterinary
science students undertake training in our hospital, clinics, and clinical services. In addition to the training of undergraduate veterinarians, SVM also trains a number of postgraduate specialists in Residency programs. 
The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University is an ASAVA accredited facility with a robust referral, emergency, and primary care caseload across a breadth of companion animal and food animal species.
The Animal Hospital provides clinical experience for fifth year veterinary students enrolled in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program and provides caseload for the raining of residents and specialty trainee postgraduate students.
The Role Seeking an accomplished Associate Professor in Small Animal Orthopaedic Surgery with a proven academic record, impactful research, leadership in postgraduate supervision, active engagement in university administration, strong connections to industry stakeholders and a significant commitment to teaching within the Discipline, College and the broader profession.
What you'll bring to this role A degree in Veterinary Science registrable with the Veterinary Surgeons' Board of Western AustraliaDemonstrated recent experience in Small Animal Surgery, particularly orthopaedicsCompletion of a residency training program with specialist board certification or eligibility for specialist qualification in Small Animal Surgery (eg. Fellow of Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists, Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Surgery, or Diplomat of European College of Veterinary Surgery)Demonstrated ability to work under broad direction only, yet exercise initiative in undertaking responsibilities and work effectively as a team memberApplicants should refer to the Position Description for further details on the work requirements, duties, skills and experience required for this role.
