About the roleDue to the continued success of our Australian operations, our Water business is seeking experienced Planning Engineers to join our National Asset Management and Planning team.
As a Senior / Associate / Principal Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and undertaking the technical assessment of water supply and sewerage networks to address drivers such as growth, compliance, network performance improvement and renewals by, undertaking strategic and master planning, options assessments, feasibility investigations and detailed planning projects as well as the preparation of business cases. You will also have exposure to and support our asset management and strategy development functions and will be working with key clients across Australia.
Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead and undertake key technical tasks across a broad range of high profile water infrastructure projects.Lead client and stakeholder workshopsPrepare well written technical reports on medium to large projects.Lead and prepare proposals on medium to large projects.Supervise and coordinate project team members to achieve project outcomes and meet client objectives and expectationsParticipate in industry associations.Comply with all roles specific SHEQ obligations.About youJoining our team, you will have experience leading the delivery of efficient and effective engineering consultancy services to our public and private sector clients including the preparation of client-focussed proposals. You will be proficient in:
Providing technical expertise across a broad range of projects.Planning of water supply and sewerage networks and an understanding of their operationPreparing and delivering effective and engaging presentations and workshopsLeading project scoping or proposal developmentDeveloping and maintaining client relationships and business developmentDeveloping skills to identify risk in medium/large profile, projects.Understanding and implementation of hydraulic principles including some experience in hydraulic modellingAnalytics techniques and use of decision support methodologies such as MCA, risk assessments, opportunities and constraints, costs and benefits etcThe use of GIS and excel to interrogate and assess dataPreparation of reports and mapsProven local experience in water engineering, and previous experience in a consultancy environment highly desirableProven experience in the capacity to deliver the best client outcomes/options which have saved the client cost/timeExperience in managing risk on large projectsKnowledge of project management including managing the scope of multiple projects and leading resourcesRecognised Bachelor's Degree (Engineering) or Equivalent.Chartered status CPENG an advantageAbout WSPWSP is one of the world's leading engineering professional services firms, bringing together approximately 6,000 talented people across 15 offices in Australia.
