Australia, TasAbout Tasmania GovernmentAbout the Tasmanian State ServiceThe Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels.The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is a member of the nursing leadership team within the Surgical Specialist clinics who assists the Nurse Manager to implement the core values of the organisation and work collaboratively with stakeholders to implement and deliver service level targets outlined by the Tasmanian Government for Outpatient Care.The ANUM promotes the development of nurses and supports excellence in clinical practice by ensuring standards of practice are consistently reflected in clinical practice and patient care.The ANUM is responsible for managing clinical risk and implementing strategies and processes to improve patient outcomes and timely access to specialist care.You will need:Demonstrated clinical experience in the relevant practice area, with the capacity to provide clinical leadership, exercise professional judgement and initiative, and work with minimal supervision.Demonstrated ability to understand the business of the unit/service in delivering the best outcomes within available resources, including a demonstrated understanding of patient flow principles and discharge planning in the pursuit of patient/client goals within a contemporary healthcare framework.Demonstrated ability to contribute to the evaluation, innovation, and development of services provided by the unit/service and the review of clinical practice policy, procedures, and protocols.Demonstrated time management and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise clinical and administrative tasks within a busy environment subject to work pressure and change.Proven commitment to teamwork, together with advanced interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, and the ability to lead, manage conflict and work effectively with a multidisciplinary team in the planning and coordination of clinical care for patients.Note: Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.The Team:The Surgical Specialist Clinics at the Royal Hobart Hospital provides specialist surgical assessment and care within the outpatient setting across a variety of surgical disciplines including several key state-wide services. The Surgical Specialist Clinics focuses on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.Details of appointment:Permanent, part-time, day worker position, working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.Salary: $103,466 to $109,165 per annum (Pro rata).
