LOCATIONThis role is based in Australia. We have a co-working space in Sydney city centre for those who prefer a hybrid model where you can spend time with colleagues in-person. If necessary, the role can be remote within Australia with coming together for team meetings as needed.
WHO YOU'LL WORK WITHIn this role, you will collaborate with a passionate team dedicated to expanding our market share in the APAC region. You will work closely with property partners on a daily basis, facilitating effective communication between them and Hostelworld.
As an Associate Market Manager, you will be a key member of the Markets Team, reporting to the Area Manager or Head of Supply APAC. You will have ownership of key cities or countries within the market and, where business conditions allow, be able to manage your tasks in a timely manner and deliver results.
Your role will require proficiency in utilizing reporting tools to identify potential opportunities and address complex cases. You will need to work independently, requiring only moderate guidance from the Manager.
WHAT YOU'LL DO Take full ownership of key accounts, cities and countries within the market.Enhance the performance and competitiveness of assigned destinations (for example: Oceania).Promote the adoption of Hostelworld products and promotional rates within assigned destinations or across the market as needed.Provide clear and detailed reports regarding the destinations under your responsibility, as well as contribute to the Weekly Report as required.Champion a specific business area across the wider organization and report on its progress.Ensure the successful delivery of the departments goals.WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Experience & Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years of experience in an online travel agency or a travel-related company, preferably with knowledge of the Oceania market.Knowledge & Skills: Commercially minded with a proven track record in solving complex cases.Fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of delivering articulate speeches and engaging in high-level business writing, ensuring clear and effective communication in diverse settings.Strong analytical abilities with a demonstrated capacity to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable business strategies.Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to construct and deliver clear, persuasive arguments.Proven strategic project management skills, with experience leading complex projects and initiatives.Extensive industry expertise, particularly in conducting market analysis and applying these insights to develop strategic initiatives.Experience in international markets, with a successful track record in managing business operations and negotiations.Highly driven and a committed team player, with outstanding interpersonal and client relations skills.WHAT WE OFFER Competitive salary & benefitsEnhanced annual leave plus 3 Wellbeing Days per yearPaid family leave (maternity, paternity, surrogacy & adoption)Agile working (plus a Working from Abroad Policy!)Support for your ongoing growth & developmentInclusive people policies (sickness, menopause, compassionate and fertility leave)A chance to give back to your local community with 5 paid volunteering daysOUR BEHAVIOURS Grow others - We fundamentally believe that investing in growing others benefits everyone, whether it's helping them develop hard or soft skills.
