About the role: The Deakin Law School places great emphasis on research that makes a difference and is focused. We work closely with industry partners and the government to put findings into practice.
Deakin Law School is looking to appoint a developing, ongoing scholar. Scholars working in all fields of legal teaching and research are welcome to apply, with expertise in the following fields being particularly welcome: Property Law; Contract Law; Evidence; Criminal Law; Family Law; Environmental Law and Workplace Law.
As an Associate Lecturer in Law, you will: Develop effective learning materials and activities as part of a design team or with guidance from the Unit Chair and demonstrate awareness of ongoing innovation in curriculum design.Assist in applying industry or research practice into student learning experiences, success, engagement and resources.Deliver effective teaching practices within unit and suggest approaches to innovate teaching practices to improve student success and engagement.Maintain appropriate discipline knowledge and constructively review and refine own teaching practice to help maintain teaching quality standards.Facilitate collaborative learning opportunities at the unit level. Adapt learning material and practices to support diverse learners.To be successful, you'll have: This position may require the incumbent to travel domestically and/or internationally to attend conferences, events and to represent the university.This position requires the incumbent to hold a current Working with Children Check.This position requires the incumbent to hold a current National Police Record Check (if applicable).PhD in Law or another relevant discipline.Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design.Here's how to apply: To be eligible to apply, you must currently be a sessional academic at Deakin or have been previously engaged as a sessional academic at Deakin within the last two years of the advertising date.
