This role will be a key member of the Airwallex APAC Finance team. As the Associate Director, Finance you will take full ownership of entities in the APAC region and ensure compliance with financial reporting, local audit and tax requirements. You will play an important role in ensuring the accuracy of the monthly financial reporting and work closely with our FP&A team. Your role will be a combination of routine financial closing activities, accounting advisory to business teams and project-based ad-hoc initiatives to continuously improve the Controllership team within Airwallex. You will also get the opportunity to lead a team and develop your leadership capabilities.
Responsibilities:Own the financial closing and accounting control procedures on our monthly reporting processes including journal entry, balance sheet, P&L reviews prior to submission to FP&A.Lead financial statement audits and tax filings and liaise with external auditors and advisors in resolving issues.Drive a wide range of improvement projects and accounting advisory for the Controllership team within Airwallex, including:Enabling new products in our reporting structure.Standardizing our process and driving efficiencies.Any process improvement that will help Airwallex's controllership function to grow and mature to the next level.Closely collaborate with product or business teams that require finance support on new product developments.Close collaboration with other departmental teams on company or group-wide projects and change management.Responsibilities of the role may develop over time.What you bring:10+ years of finance experience, Big Four experience is advantageous.Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, CPA or equivalent qualification preferred. Master's degree is a plus.Strong understanding of financial services, fintech businesses and regulatory environments.Extensive experience in a financial controlling role and proven track record of building and expanding these capabilities within an organization.Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards and ability to apply them in practice.Proven track record in managing complex, local or international projects focused on process improvement initiatives.Strong communicator and ability to interact with all levels within the organization.Confident, creative and innovative thought leadership and communication skills to deliver impact in a hyper-growth environment.Experience working independently and navigating ambiguity.Equal opportunityAirwallex is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
