What this opportunity involves:
JLL is seeking a smart, capable, and business-savvy professional to join our Project and Development Services team in Melbourne as an Associate Director in JLL Design Solutions. This dynamic role offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead and shape high-profile design projects while mentoring the next generation of designers.

Overview of the role: Manage all phases of design projects from initiation to closure, ensuring effective coordination and maximizing outcomes for all stakeholders.Collaborate with Design Directors, junior designers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement innovative design concepts.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers, fostering their professional growth and encouraging comprehensive documentation across projects.Demonstrate superior communication skills (both written and verbal) to build and maintain successful relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.Utilize excellent time management and organizational skills to deliver coordinated design management services in a fast-paced environment.Maintain a high-level overview of design across various sites, exploring all options to present the best solutions to clients.Understand and apply financial models to streamline project delivery and mitigate risks throughout the design and documentation process.Work closely with project management teams to ensure integrated design coordination across all consultants, managing RFIs effectively. This is what we're looking for: Deep expertise in interior design principles, trends, and concepts, with the ability to create innovative and visually appealing designs.Strong creative vision and ability to translate it into impactful interior design concepts.Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and visual (hand sketch and/or digital), to effectively convey design ideas to clients, stakeholders, and team members.Proven ability to collaborate effectively with clients, architects, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.Keen awareness of Australian and international design trends, suppliers, and the ability to apply design thinking methodology.Comprehensive project experience from concept design through construction documentation and on-site implementation, demonstrated by a strong portfolio.Ability to prepare and review documentation in accordance with the National Construction Code and relevant standards.Strong project management skills to oversee multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.Solid understanding of the interior design industry, including market trends, client preferences, and competitive landscape.
