The Role

Working closely with Melbourne's #1 Construction Law Partner for the property development sector. This team is working on around 15 of the top 20 development projects currently underway in VIC, plus several projects across QLD, NSW, SA and TAS.

Having the lions' share means they can cherry pick those high-end 'first of their kind' and landmark projects across Australia – including the tallest buildings in Aus, $bn+ redevelopments, 5-star hotels, and design-driven projects that include complicated issues around rail and port corridors, aviation pathways, sky bridges, heritage, public utilities, parklands and infrastructure.

This is complex work that requires a high degree of problem-solving and commerciality – not procedural and process-driven box ticking work with copy & paste contracts.

The management style here is one of maturity and respect. You won't be micromanaged and the Senior Partner running this practice works in the trenches with an open door. He is very much available, and is well known for the level of mentoring he provides to his staff – several of the Partners here even trained under him as graduates.

The level of investment in technical and professional development at the firm is second to none in the legal industry. They regularly run external T&D programs aimed at developing financial literacy and commerciality, effective delegation, building your own professional profile and networking with clients.
