Operating since 1988, the winery has a state-of-the-art facility handling up to 5000 tonnes of premium fruit each vintage. The brand boasts a diverse product portfolio and holds a strong position in both domestic and export markets. The Assistant Winemaker position is a hands-on role, working closely with the senior winemaker, assisting in all aspects of the winemaking process, from harvest to bottling, including blending, laboratory analysis, quality control and HACCP. Key Responsibilities: Winemaking: Process, blending and tasting together with the winemakerLaboratory Assistance: including but not limited to analysis, external analysis samples, and management of equipment and consumables. Monitor quality before packaging, inspecting, taking samples, and adjusting treatment conditions when necessary.Contract Processing: Assist with contract processing, including administration.Wine Samples: Manage, prepare and finalise for dispatch.Administration and recordkeeping: Including but not limited to blends, trials, bulk wine sales, contract processing GI/LIP and additive stock inventory.On and offsite bottling: assist the winemaker and the general manager with bottling planning/operations.Wine Certifications: Bulk and bottled, registration on WALAS.QC and HACCP: HACCP and OH&S in collaboration with the GM.About You: Passion for the wine industryMinimum 1 to 3 years experienceRelevant tertiary qualification in oenology, viticulture, or currently studying.Proven track record of commitment and reliability.Valid driver's license.Forklift license is desirable.Senior first aid is desirable.Confined space entry trained.
