To achieve our aims, we recruit the very best people who understand the City exists to enable and deliver the aspirations of the community.The OpportunityAs an Assistant Traffic Management Engineer in the City of Perth, you will support the Traffic Management Engineer in coordinating Traffic Management Planning activities within the City. This will primarily include assisting in the review and approval of moderately complex Traffic Management Plans for construction works and events being held in the City.Reporting to the Lead Urban Transport within our Transport and Urban Design team, your responsibilities would primarily include:With general direction from the Traffic Management Engineer, review and approve Traffic Management Plans submitted to the City for planned works and events being held in the City;Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to assist with the development of Traffic Management Plans, to facilitate the approval process and planned road closures;Through the delivery of outstanding service, establish a reputation of customer service excellence throughout the organisation; andMaintain compliant work practices in accordance with all relevant legislation, recordkeeping frameworks, and all other relevant Council policies and procedures.About YouTo succeed in this role, you will possess:Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, or experience in a related field;Basic research, analytical, and problem-solving skills;Ability to effectively plan, organise and manage your own time to achieve outcomes within set timeframes despite conflicting priorities; andSound written and oral communication skills.If your experience and capabilities match these criteria, we welcome your application.Above all, you will live our values of Commitment, Teamwork, Courage, and Respect that allow us to come together to lead and support the community.EligibilityTo be eligible to work for us, you will need to demonstrate:A right to work in Australia (e.g. a birth certificate, current passport, or current visa);A satisfactory National Police Clearance (dated within 3 months).How to ApplyPlease apply online by clicking the 'APPLY' button below, which will direct you to the City's application questionnaire.When prompted, please submit your current resume, a cover letter that concisely addresses the Selection Criteria, and any relevant qualifications or certifications.
