About the roleWe are currently seeking an assistant quantity surveyor/assistant contracts administrator to join our rail operations business unit based in Brisbane.Rail Operations is an internal business unit within Laing O'Rourke, specialising in the sole delivery of all aspects of Rail, working with a team of technical experts to deliver a high portfolio of work across Australia.This immediate start permanent role offers great career prospects with a privately-owned tier 1 constructor and international engineering enterprise.
Key responsibilities Responsible for assisting/supporting the Project Team in all aspects of Commercial Management of projects.Able to generate, interpret and closely monitor labour, plant, materials, subcontractors and indirect cost reports and review forecasts against budgets.Able to undertake valuation of multiple varied Subcontract packages and preparation of external Application for payment.Assists in the preparation of simple subcontract packages and the assistance in preparing of elements of the main contract procurement process.Review of monthly cost reports and journalling of costs to different projects within Coins.
About you Have completed or working towards a Construction Management, Building, Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent coupled with Rail and / or construction experience.Proficient in subcontractor payment claims prepared under the Security of Payment ActProcurement of subcontractors including preparation of subcontract agreementsStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite & attention to detail and accuracy.Previous Coins, Assigner, Ariba experience would be favourable but not compulsory.Ability to work in a self-directed manner, take initiative and work independently as well as the ability to work as a member of multiple regions.Good organizational skills including the ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks and meet deadlines.
