Parramatta CBD – Hybrid flexibilityImmediate start 6 month-contract, possible further extension$55.00 + superOur client is a statutory body established under the Aboriginal Housing Act 1998 (NSW) to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have access to affordable, quality housing.

The Role: The Assistant Project Officer will support the design and implementation of a range of projects, which improve service delivery or operations and contribute to better outcomes for Aboriginal people including individuals, families, groups and communities.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:Support the design, implementation and coordination of projects that deliver effective business unit outcomes and meet client service delivery needs.Undertake research and analysis to support the development of key projects and the improvement of processes to ensure good business outcomes.Use project management methodologies and processes to ensure consistent high quality outcomes.Update project documentation, including registers, which support delivery of projects in compliance with agreed upon project management methodology.Prepare standard project-related documents for key stakeholders as required, including status updates, reports, budgets and discussion papers to manage the flow of information.Assist the project team with completing tasks and implement project plans as required to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved.Liaise and work across Divisions and non-government stakeholders to ensure effective interface between program development, planning, service design and policy implementation.The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: Ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment characterised by conflicting priorities and multiple stakeholders.Maintain project related reports and registers to ensure accountability, integrity of data and comprehensive tracking of project milestones.Essential requirements: Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal cultural beliefs and attitudes and of the socio-economic position of Aboriginal people within Australian society, and of their impacts in relation to housing. A thorough understanding of the Aboriginal political and historical impacts upon policy developments in NSW and nationally in relation to Aboriginal land rights, and Aboriginal land use.Aboriginal identified positions are developed where Aboriginal identity, cultural knowledge or connections are a genuine aspect of the role. Positions are specifically noted under the provisions of the NSW Anti-discrimination Act (1977) for Aboriginal people who meet the following criteria:is of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, andidentifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, andis accepted as a such by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.To Apply:
